Friday 17th March

Morning! It’s good to see the broken gate closed off and all 5 boys and girls still sticking to the gate side of the downs. All ok except no 56, who has a few bald patches on her left side and top of, close to front. Pinky /orange skin showing through.

Trough ok, still a lot of leaves at bottom but water looked clear so didn’t disturb.

Hi there, all 8 cows spread out a bit near entrance and up hill a bit. Trough isn’t leaking now but still hear filling. Perhaps they just drank from it? Many leaves in trough and would be good to know the best way to clean it out, is it just hands in and grab? I don’t want to make it worse. One cow (fluffy ears, no visible tag) lying down but not chewing cud, just doing nothing. This cow has a dry nose, seems ok. I made him stand and walk, all ok. I have just never seen a cow do nothing before, is that normal? Photo attached 😊 Happy weekend
