This is the blog for Shawford Cattle Checking, please blog on here to let us know you've seen the cows. If you want to add pictures please feel free! 

Main things to check: Health of the animals, Trough full and working (Ice free in minus temperatures), No breaks in the fence line.

Hi there, all 8 cows spread out a bit near entrance and up hill a bit. Trough isn’t leaking now but still hear filling. Perhaps they just drank from it? Many leaves in trough and would be good to know the best way to clean it out, is it just hands in and grab? I don’t want to make it worse. One cow (fluffy ears, no visible tag) lying down but not chewing cud, just doing nothing. This cow has a dry nose, seems ok. I made him stand and walk, all ok. I have just never seen a cow do nothing before, is that normal? Photo attached 😊 Happy weekend
